The Dovecot, Bulford

Location

Tucked away on the edge of Bulford Village, The Dovecot is set in six acres of attractive grounds - a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a haven for wildfowl.

The River Avon runs alongside the garden and offers a delightful spot for quiet repose after a busy day sightseeing.

Bulford is situated close to Amesbury, which is an attractive small town on the edge of the Stonehenge World Heritage Site, and next to Salisbury Plain which is a magnificent area of extensive chalk downland offering great opportunities for walkers, cyclists and horse riders.

Bulford is one mile from the A303, with its dual-carriageway link to London via the M3; the M25 is 55 minutes away, Heathrow airport can be reached in about an hour, and both Gatwick and Stanstead airports in under two hours.

Five miles from Stonehenge and ten miles from Salisbury, The Dovecot is well placed for people wanting high quality bed and breakfast accommodation while exploring Salisbury Plain and Wiltshire, including our second World Heritage Site, at Avebury, or as a stop en-route to or from the West Country.

The sitting room, below, has a panoramic view of the River Avon, regularly has a log fire during cold weather. The curved top to the window dates back to when this room was used for storing farm wagons, and there were large doors where now there is a picture window.

The courtyard, showing the dovecot beyond the lily pond, and the bedrooms to the right of the statue.

And, as seen from above.
