In November 2009 The Dovecot was awarded both 5 Star Silver accreditation and the recently announced Breakfast Award by Enjoy England.
Situated next to the River Avon and close to Stonehenge, Longleat, Amesbury and Salisbury, this country house has been created from an 18th Century dovecot and period farm buildings. Once a working farm, The Dovecot is now a fascinating and comfortable house offering luxury bed and breakfast ( b and b ) accommodation around a charming courtyard garden.
- The Dovecot is a relaxed and peaceful bolthole where the service is friendly and helpful, and guests receive plenty of individual attention. It has received the rare accolade of a 5 Star Silver Award from Visit Britain, given to places that go ‘that extra mile’ to make your stay a special one.
- There are three en-suite bedrooms which look out onto the extensive gardens, river and pond. They have their own separate access from the courtyard garden, affording privacy and flexibility
- Breakfast is taken in the dovecot, which features three-foot deep chalk walls with nesting boxes. Our food is freshly cooked to order; it is home made or locally sourced wherever possible, which has earned us the Wiltshire Breakfast Award for the fourth year
- Guests can relax in the large sitting room, with roaring log fire and stunning views over the river, or stroll around the grounds at their leisure
- Our wireless internet ( WiFi ) connection enables guests to use their laptops to check their email and keep in contact with the outside world.
